ONLINE GIVING
Why do we give?
"The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it..."
—Psalm 24:1
As Jesus' Followers, we believe that we are stewards of God's resources. He is the owner of everything we have and the source of all our talents and skills. That means we are then the managers of the talents, skills, opportunities and money God gives us. The Bible calls this concept of managing our resources, stewardship.
As a church we are called to give generously of our time, skills and money to see the Kingdom of God advance in North County and beyond. As individuals we are each called to play our part and respond to this challenge.
We encourage people to give:
Regularly
Rather than giving only when a need arises or our emotions are tweaked, we give on a regular basis to support what God is doing. Many people base how regularly they give on their pay periods. They give each time they are paid.
Proportionally
A proportion of our income given away to impact the lives of others and meet their needs through God's Kingdom is called the tithe*. Offerings are freely given beyond that as an act of thanks or compassion.
*Tithe literally means, "a tenth." 10% is used in the Bible and we think of that as a good place to start.
Sacrificially
For Christians, the tithe is a floor, not a ceiling. Our goal is generous hearts and lives, so we make it our goal to live simply at the lower end of our income bracket so that we have more capacity to give.
Gratefully & Cheerfully
Throughout scripture, we are reminded of the importance of giving back a portion of what God has so generously provided. Giving is an act of worship that is meant be done out of gratitude and with a generous heart.
How can I give?
Sunday offering
Give by cash or check during the offering. You can use the giving envelopes located in the backs of the seats. Many people use that time of giving their gift as a significant act of worship.
Bank Draft
This automatically sends an amount you specify from your bank account to the church’s, on a chosen date each month or quarter. You can alter the amount by notifying your own bank. You can set this up through your bank like you would any other payment and it doesn't cost you or the church anything for the service.
Online
To give safely and securely online via debit card please click on the relevant buttons at the bottom of this page. Please know that the online giving does not make a distinction regarding a debit card or a credit card. We strongly suggest that no one use a credit card unless it is paid off every month. The Bible speaks in Proverbs 22:7 about “…the borrower [being] slave to the lender.” We do not want our congregation to go into debt by tithing on a credit card!
